Abstract :
The present classroom investigation was basically conducted to improvespeaking skill of eighth grade students of SMK SeniUkirTangebthrough interactive spontaneous conversation activity (ISCA). This study made use of classroom research design with descriptive analysis. It consisted of two cycles and in each cycle, there were four successive session. The result of the pretest clearly showed that the preexisting speaking skill of the subjects was poor. It was 36. The result of the data analysis of cycle I figured out the increasing mean figure of 503, 5050, 650, and 69 for S1, S2, S3, and S4 respectively. The result of the data analysis of cycle II clearly figured out the increasing mean figures of 72, 76, 79, and 84 for S50, S6, S7, and S8. The grand mean figures of cycle I and cycle II showed 61 and 78 there was a different mean figure of 17 (78-61) between two cycles. The result of the analysis of the questionnaire scores showed positive attitude towards the application of the strategy. It could therefore be concluded that improving speaking skill through interactive spontaneous conversation activity (ISCA) was an effective technique both quantitatively and qualitatively.
